We invite you to discover indie film from the global majority with a slate of 97 films representing 48 countries — including 16 world, 16 North America, and 10 United States premieres — at the 2024 BlackStar Film Festival! These films engage with self-discovery, land rights, forced displacement, decolonization, queer liberation, and much more. Or as Festival Director Nehad Khader puts it, “The filmmakers in this year’s program are unafraid to meet the moment. Their films speak to what matters most to our communities today and to a collective vision that another world is possible.”
