A Place in the Middle (Dean Hamer, Joe Wilson, 2014, 30 min)
A young Hawaiian girl dreams of leading her all male hula troupe is inspired by her transgender teacher who knows what it is like to be “in the middle”.

Heart of the Sea (Lisa Denker, 2002, 50 min)
Called “a love poem to Hawaii’s matriarchal heritage”, this film tells the legend of Rell Kapolioka ‘ehukai Sunn, surfing champion and breast cancer activist.
