JS Wu is a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, completing a dissertation titled "Inbetween Bodies: The Marked and Unmarked Subjects of Contemporary Animation." She received a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in English and Art Practice and minored in Creative Writing. In addition to her scholarly work, she maintains an art practice working in film, animation, comics, and a variety of paper-based media. Her work as a storyboard artist can also be seen in Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You.
