MARIA BOURLATSKAYA has been with the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures since 1992. She also directs the Russian Language and Culture Program at the Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. The Lauder Institute offers the MA in Area Studies as a supplement to the MBA offered by the Wharton School of Business. Maria designs and implements an eight-week summer program in Russia, leading to a four-semester language and culture program at the Advanced and Superior levels of Language Proficiency.
Mari Bourlatskaya specializes in teaching advanced Russian content-based courses for business professionals with the use of film and literature, as well as political and business materials. She has also developed and taught a number of courses for heritage speakers of Russian that primarily focus on Post-Soviet Russian Society and Russian culture.
