Claudi Weill’s comedic drama of two mismatched roommates, a photographer
and a writer, in late-1970s New York City. A favorite of Stanley Kubrick, who remarked that it was one “of the very rare American films that I would compare with the serious, intelligent, sensitive writing and filmmaking that you find in the best directors in Europe... It seemed to make no compromise to the inner truth of the story.” Screenplay by Vicki Polon.

Legendary cinematographer Gordon Willis’ only movie as a director is a dark and twisted thriller starring Talia Shire as a menaced woman and Elizabeth Ashley as her obsessed, voyeur neighbor.
