Maria Murad | Understanding the Life of Florence Shotridge

Maria Murad (CIMS Minor, C'21), shares her senior thesis research on Florence Shotridge, also known as Kaatxwaaxsnéi, a Tlingit woman from Alaska who worked for the Penn Museum. After learning about Shortridge in a class taught by Heather Sharkey, Murad says she “felt a deep, intrinsic longing to learn more about her.”
