“The Color of the Chameleon” won the Grand Prix Award.


Penn SLAV and CINE faculty Vladislav Todorov's film adaptation of his novel "Zincograph," THE COLOR OF THE CHAMELEON, produced by Peripeteia Films - Buryana Zaharieva & Vladislav Todorov <www.peripeteiafilms.com> was awarded the national “Golden Rose” Grand Prix at the 31st “Golden Rose” Varna Film Festival (5-11 October 2012).

The Jury chaired by film director Ivan Pavlov and director of the Bulgarian National Archivw gave the award in the name of the scriptwriter Vladislav Todorov, the first time director Emil Hristov and the performer of the lead role Rushen Vidinliev. The jury said that the film possessed “civic courage, power of satire and unity of idea and visual interpretation, showing the vulnerability of ordinary people in times of political terror and historical absurdity.”

Best DoP was also awarded to Krum Rodriguez for his work in THE COLOR OF THE CHAMELEON.

Finally, The Award of the accredited journalists went to THE COLOR OF THE CHAMELEON directed by Emil Hristov.
