William Boddy is a faculty member of the Ph.D. Program in Theatre Baruch College and has served as Coordinator of the Film Studies Certificate Program at the Graduate Center.  He has been a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an adjunct professor at New York University and Yale University. He received his Ph.D. in Cinema Studies at New York University, and his publications include Fifties Television: The Industry and Its Critics (University of Illinois Press, 1990) and New Media and Popular Imagination: Launching Radio, Television, and Digital Media in the United States (Oxford University Press, 2004), as well as scores of articles and book chapters on media history, digital media, and film studies. Past associate editor of Cinema Journal, Boddy serves on the editorial advisory boards of Screen and Television and New Media. His teaching interests include film theory, avant-garde film and video, digital media, and the cultural history of electronic media.
