Publishing in Cinema and Media Studies

Karen Redrobe will lead a workshop on the topic of publishing in Cinema and Media Studies. When is the right time to turn a paper into an article for publication? Is it a good idea to publish in online journals? What does "double blind peer review" mean, and does it matter? What are some of the leading journals in Cinema and Media Studies? Which ones are most open to publishing graduate student work? How much of your dissertation should you publish? How do you go about preparing your manuscript for publication as a book, and which presses are interesting for Cinema and Media Studies? How do reviewers approach a manuscript? What questions are they asked to consider, and how should you respond to a critical reader's report? Come and discuss these questions, and ask your own!
